Ever taken part in a nighttime race? Probably not...we certainly haven't. Needless to say, this is going to be awesome!!!
Registration for the INAUGURAL 30A Halloween 5-Mile/5K Nighttime Trail Run, presented by Glass Casa Vacation Rentals, is NOW OPEN! The race will be taking place on Sunday, October 9th at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Come run a 5K under the Florida Panhandle October night sky on a perfectly paved path. OR, better yet, run a 5-miler under that same sky, but on pavement, on the beach, AND on the trails! Aside from running in the dark at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, do you know what else these two distinctly different courses have in common? That’s right, ZOMBIES! Yes, there will be zombies on both courses! I should, however, make clear that this is NOT a "zombie run." The zombies will not chase runners, touch runners, nor impede their running in any way. There are no flags to be stolen, etc. The zombies are there for your amusement and to satisfy a theme, nothing more :)
Course: Again, the 30A Halloween 5m/5k Nighttime Trail Run will be taking place at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The "Spooky Feet" 5K course will be taking place exclusively on their paved path. No sand, no roots or rocks…nothing but asphalt! The "Scary Feet" 5-mile course will use portions of this same paved path at the start and finish; but, for the in-between part, will utilize a stretch of their awesome beach as well as a few of their trails. We tried to pick trails with minimal trip hazards, but of course any place there are trees there are going to be tree roots. Therefore, for everyone’s safety, ALL RUNNERS must have an operational headlamp or flashlight to run. No exceptions. To preserve the night vision of your fellow runners, please consider using a color OTHER than white.

Awards/Post-Race Social: We’ll be giving awards for the men’s and women’s winners and runner ups for both courses. All registered runners who cross the finish line for their respective race will receive a suitably cool finisher’s award.
There will be a post-race social at Macho Taco on U.S. 98 (next to Shermin Williams, basically across from the South Walton Publix). Details to follow, but all registered runners can expect two beverages + a special on food.
Swag. Awesome race swag as always! This year all registered runners will receive the official 30A Halloween 5-mile/5K Nighttime Trail Run race shirt.
Packet Pick-up: Early packet pick-up will be at Mountain High Outfitters (https://mountainhighoutfitters.com) in Miramar Beach on Saturday, October 8. Specific hours of the early packet pick-up to follow. And, of course, there will be race day packet pick-up adjacent the start/finish line as well.
